Shadow Health Minister Walt Secord has claimed that the NSW government is deliberately delaying medicinal cannabis applications from doctors for patients with terminal illnesses and other serious medical conditions.
Mr Secord also critcised the $6 million cannabis medicines hotline which the government opened saying it has not helped gain quicker approvals.
Speaking at the Medicinal Cannabis Alliance meeting organised by United in Compassion, Mr Secord compared the access systems available in Canada and Israel that allowed tens of thousands of patients to receive lawful access to medicinal cannabis, while the numbers remained very low in NSW.
