FIRST AUSTRALIAN TRIAL TO EXPLORE EFFECTS OF MEDICINAL CANNABIS ON INSOMNIA

Researchers at the University of Western Australia (UWA) are hoping the sedation effect brought on by medicinal cannabis could be an alternative to current drugs on the market and will be the first ones to test an oil containing cannabis on patients suffering with chronic sleeping issues.

UWA study lead, Professor Peter Eastwood said, ‘If it is as safe as people hope, if it works as well as people hope, then it could be a game changer, not just for insomnia, but for a bunch of health problems.’
