THE ROLE OF MEDICINAL CANNABIS IN CLINICAL THERAPY: PHARMACISTS’ PERSPECTIVES.

The aim of this interview-based study on 34 registered pharmacists in Australia was to explore their views on access to medicinal cannabis and barriers from a supplier’s perspective. The results show that according to the majority of pharmacists, the most appropriate setting to manage medicinal cannabis supply would be via a community pharmacy setting.
Pre-clinical studies documenting the anti-cancer effects of THC and its success in inhibiting cancer growth and spread have been on the rise. Clinical studies however are scarce as the psychoactive effects of THC can limit its medicinal and clinical use.
